If you want something framed, New Creations is your place to go. Chances are, there is an example of what you would like to frame already hanging in the store, including clothing and even framed needlepoint, which Nancy White says is among her favorite subjects.
White has a lot of experience – she has been in the framing business for well over three decades, many of them in San Marino.
“We would be better off listing the things that we can’t do rather than what we can do,” she tells us. White and her longtime associate, Andrea Orosz, are experts in the field of framing, especially what is known in the business as conservation or preservation framing.
“This assures that what you want framed survives to the next generation,” advises White.
“We frame and shadow box needlepoint day in and day out,” said White. “From all around the country. Not a lot of businesses offer this feature but it is one of our specialties. Customers see what we can do on Facebook and other social media and they send us things all the time.”
White also sees her role as a shopkeeper as being a vital one.
“We feel it is important to keep our store looking nice,” she said. “I did not know how community-driven this town is – The Boy Scouts, the schools – the small-town feel. I didn’t know to anticipate that. This has been a pleasant surprise.”
New Creations also has a unique feature; “The Red Chair,” which was used by former San Marino First Lady, Winnie Reitnouer, when she lived in town. White still takes photos of customers in the “Red Chair” and posts them on social media.
Possibly the best advice about New Creations is to stop by and see what is available – It might be a situation where you become aware of what you need just by looking!
