Saturday, May 11 at Lacy Park was a fun picnic time for families and friends of East meets West Parent Education Club, EMWPEC. Everyone brought their delicious food and treats at this potluck event and got to chitchat, meet the EMWPEC board members, recognize many youths that volunteered in the community, and cheer for the winners of the writing contest.  San Marino Mayor Steven Huang presented the recognition to all writing contest winners.

This family friendly event was definitely perfect for all ages, many families had three generations that attended!  The picnic was a day before Mother’s Day, so the mother of the youngest child was especially recognized with flowers, plus all the grandmothers were recognized with flowers too!

EMWPEC promotes diverse cultural understanding, encourages youths for leadership and volunteering spirit, and provides events and workshops for the whole family.  The next event is 6/8 Hike and Trail clean-up event.  For more information, visit www.EMWPEC.org for more details.
