$2,500 Woman’s Club Scholarship Awarded to San Marino High School Student

San Marino High School student Makenna Wong from San Marino was awarded the San Marino Woman’s Club Scholarship on May 23, 2024.

Makenna Wong will be attending the University of Southern California as a Human Development and Aging major, with the intent of pursuing Gerontology and Oncology.

Funded by San Marino Woman’s Club, who’s mission is to aid needy women, children, and disabled of the San Gabriel Valley region of Los Angeles County This scholarship seeks to support students who are committed to serving others so they can afford to pursue their academic goals.

Additionally, The San Marino Woman’s Club was pleased to award San Marino High School senior Justin Levy a $2,500 scholarship.

Each student was awarded $2,500 for a total of $5,000 in college scholarship funds awarded by our Club this year.  Congratulations SMHS seniors.

The San Marino Woman’s Club, established in 1936 in San Marino, California, has always been a generous philanthropic organization.

One of its missions is to help needy women, children, and disabled in the San Gabriel Valley region of Los Angeles. As part of this goal, the San Marino Woman’s Club awards annual scholarships to students who exemplify their values.

Through school, extracurricular activities and volunteer work, these individuals demonstrate a strong commitment to serving others. Additionally, they strive to embody key traits for an impactful life, including resilience, curiosity, risk-taking, compassion, creativity, and effective collaboration or leadership skills.

This scholarship seeks to support students who are committed to serving others so they can afford to pursue their academic goals.
