The San Marino 4th of July Parade started in 1969 and has been running ever since. The San Marino Rotary Club has been the organizers of the parade for the city for over 23 years.
Each year the committee works at picking a Grand Marshal who exemplifies the Rotary ideals “Service above Self”. This year the grand marshal was chosen because she has shown this ideal not only once, twice, or three times – but many, many times over and continues to do so. She was very active in the PTSAs every year when her four children were in the San Marino School District, but even since they have grown and gone to College.
She was active with her three daughters in Girls Scouts (all 3 are Gold Awards), and her son in Boy Scouts (Eagle Scout), but also with NCL, PTA Affiliates, and many other local activities. She and her husband continue to give to and supportafter the San Marino School District.
We all look forward to having Avery Barth as our 4th of July Grand Marshal in 2024!
