Leela Anvekar, a 2021 graduate of San Marino High School and a junior at NewYork University, has qualified for the 2023 NCAA Division III women’s volleyball championships, which will be held in Claremont. The Violets will open with Northwestern St. Paul.
NYU defeated Emory in the UAA (University Athletic Association) before deferring Ithaca in the NCAA regional championships. The wins over Emory and Ithaca took place on each team’s court.
Anvekar plays at NYU with Grace Nelson, who graduated from Westridge, and Lindsay Hirano, who played at South Pasadena High School.
Leela Anvekar was a member of San Marino High School’s volleyball team that won the Rio Hondo League in 2020. It marked the last time the Titans won the Rio Hondo League.
