Alcohol Awareness Month, observed each April and led by the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, raises awareness about the risks of alcohol misuse and promotes education on prevention and treatment. It highlights the impact of excessive drinking on health, safety, and communities while encouraging responsible decision-making and early intervention. The campaign also supports open conversations and connects individuals and families to resources for help and recovery.

- Health and Safety: Emphasizing the physical and mental health effects of alcohol misuse.

Traffic Enforcement
Traffic enforcement is guided by three (3) primary categories:
- Community-generated traffic complaints
- Officer-observed violations
- Analysis of traffic collision data
The Department maintains and regularly updates a comprehensive list of locations identified through traffic complaints and collision data to inform and prioritize enforcement efforts. As part of our traffic collision investigations, we also assess contributing factors that may have played a role in the incident. These factors may include distracted driving, roadway engineering, and environmental conditions.

A report was taken to document the theft of vehicle license plates.
3:00 PM / Traffic Collison / Huntington Drive / Winston Avenue
Party #1 was traveling West on Huntington Drive, while Party #2 was traveling North on Winston Avenue. Party #1 failed to stop for a red traffic signal and collided with Party #2. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. The primary collision factor is CVC §21453 – Running a Red Light.

11:10 AM / Financial Fraud / 1400 Block of Lorain Road
A report was taken to document a notification of a potential financial fraud. The investigation remains ongoing.
12:21 PM / Traffic Collision / 1300 Block of San Marino Avenue
Party #1 was traveling South on San Marino Avenue and collided with Party #2 at the yield-controlled intersection at Euston Road. The primary collision factor is CVC §21800 – Failure to Yield.
3:12 PM / Arrest / Huntington Drive / Del Mar Avenue
Officers responded to a reported road rage incident. Investigation revealed the suspect attempted to force the victim’s vehicle into a right-hand turn while the traffic control remained red. The suspect exited their vehicle and engaged in a physical altercation with the victim. The suspect, Olivia Tang (D.O.B. 05/29/1992, Alhambra), was issued an Own Recognizance citation for PC §242 – Battery and released in the field without further incident.

7:04 PM / Stolen Vehicle / El Molino Avenue / Monterey Road
Officers responded to a report of a disabled motorhome partially blocking a lane of travel. Upon further investigation, it was determined the motorhome was an unreported stolen vehicle. The investigation remains ongoing.

9:40 PM / Prowling / 600 Block of Lombardy Place
Two (2) unknown suspects entered the rear yard of a residence and were observed using flashlights to look into the interior of the home. The residents received a motion alert from their security system and attempted to communicate with the suspects via security cameras. Upon communication with the suspects, they fled the scene and left in an unknown direction. The suspects are described as male adults wearing face masks, gloves, and all-black clothing. Officers conducted a canvass of the surrounding area to identify potential witnesses and recover any available security camera footage. This investigation remains ongoing.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for violation of CVC §4000(a)(1) – Expired Registration Tabs. A records check revealed the driver had one (1) outstanding warrant from El Monte Police Department. Jose Manuel Hernandez (D.O.B. 10/23/1999, Pico Rivera) was issued an Own Recognizance citation and released in the field without incident.
