San Marino High School’s varsity football team rode a big-play wave that was provided by senior Sid Danenhauer to defeat visiting Arroyo High School by a final score of 26-6 on Friday evening and improve their season record to 2-0.
Danenhauer scored two touchdowns, intercepted a pass and recovered two fumbles to pace San Marino to victory. His second fumble recovery led directly to one of Danenhauer’s touchdown catches.
Coleman Morning added a touchdown for the Titans and fellow senior Nathan Yarahmadi picked off a pass in the fourth quarter to seal the win. San Marino hits the road next Friday, September 1 for the first time this season to square off with Rosemead. Yarahmadi paced a strong Titan defensive effort along with Mitchell Mooney and Reef Stark-Moniz. Mikey Yessaian played another solid contest on both sides of the football.
Quarterback Brady Beck played another efficient game with three touchdown passes.
The victory avenged last year’s 28-0 loss to pro in the CIF playoffs.
