San Marino High School’s boys’ varsity football team had to face a 300-yard passer and 100-yard receiver on Friday night, which resulted in a 35-9 loss to visiting Crescenta Valley High School as the Titans absorbed their first loss of the season. The Titans, 3-1, will travel to Los Angeles Wilson High School on Friday for a 7:00 pm. non-league contest.
Crescenta Valley’s Jacob Deno was the 300-yard passer and Xavier Thompson racked up 112 receiving yards and a touchdown among his several circus catches.
San Marino’s Brady Beck completed 12 of 27 passes for 167 yards and Sid Danenhauer made a 50-yard touchdown catch as the Titans kept it close. Defensively, Miley Yessaian made three tackles, Danenhauer made 11, Coleman Morning recorded 13, Julian Solis made a dozen stops 12 and Liam Van Fossen recorded seven. Mitch Mooney checked in with seven and Nathan Yarahmadi made five.
Mooney, Van Fossen, Clement Truong and Morning each had a sack for the Titans.
