Kayla Giddings finished 3rd out of 102 runners in her Heat in CIF Prelims with a 19:21 time, which included the team from JSerra which is ranked #1 in California and #4 in the nation. She was 8th out of the 301 runners across the three heats. She now advances to CIF Finals next week, also at Mt. Sac, and to advance to State Finals in Clovis she needs to finish in the top 20 overall and top 5 of any individual qualifiers.
There are no other San Marino qualifiers. Essien finished in 22nd in his Heat with a 16:57 time.
