Wesley Reutimann, who organized the second Arroyo Fest over the weekend, said the event was a success.
“The second ArroyoFest was a magical morning for tens of thousands of residents of the Arroyo Seco who ran, walked, biked, skated, scooted, and even rode horses on the National Scenic Byway,” said Reutimann.
“For a few hours the event elevated the park in ‘parkway’ and showcased the potential of our region to become a healthier community. If nothing else, my hope is that the 20th anniversary ArroyoFest will inspire others to engage in the many Arroyo Seco issues that are as relevant today as they were twenty years ago, including watershed restoration, greenway development, and equitable access to open space.”
Reutimann, a graduate of San Marino High School, was a cross-country champion who continues to be an elite racer.
