For the period of Sunday, September 28, 2025 – Saturday, October 4, 2025, the Police Department responded to 480 calls for service. Two (2) residential burglaries, zero (0) commercial burglaries, and one (1) attempted burglary occurred during the reporting week.

Traffic Enforcement
Traffic enforcement is guided by three (3) primary categories:
- Community-generated traffic complaints
- Officer-observed violations
- Analysis of traffic collision data
The Department maintains and regularly updates a comprehensive list of locations identified through traffic complaints and collision data to inform and prioritize enforcement efforts. As part of our traffic collision investigations, we also assess contributing factors that may have played a role in the incident. These factors may include distracted driving, roadway engineering, and environmental conditions.

4:12 PM / Attempted Burglary / 2300 Block of Lorain Road
Officers responded to a report of an attempted residential burglary. Upon arrival, officers observed two shattered window panes on the rear sliding door of the residence. Unknown suspect(s) did not gain entry into the residence and fled the scene in an unknown direction. Officers conducted a canvass of the surrounding area to identify potential witnesses and recover any available security camera footage. This investigation remains ongoing.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for violation of CVC §21201(d) – Bicycle Lighting and Reflector. A pat down search was conducted and revealed that the bicyclist was in violation of H&S §11364 – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Juan Cuevas Trujillo (D.O.B. 06/28/1981, Los Angeles) was issued an Own Recognizance citation and released in the field without incident.

Victim reported that an unknown suspect unlawfully obtained their personal information associated with their phone service provider and fraudulently opened an account without authorization. This investigation remains ongoing.
6:54 PM / Documentation / Melville Drive / Rubio Drive
A report was taken to document found property.
6:59 PM / Hit and Run / Los Robles Avenue / Winthrop Road
Parties #1, #2, and #3 were traveling South on Los Robles Avenue. Party #1 was directly behind Party #2 and collided with the rear of Party #2’s vehicle. The impact caused Party #2’s vehicle to be pushed forward, striking Party #3’s vehicle. Parties #2 and #3 pulled over to the side of the roadway. Party #1 fled the scene without providing any contact information. The primary collision factor was CVC §20002(a) – Hit and Run.
8:40 PM / DUI / Los Robles Avenue / Winthrop Road
Officers, with assistance from the Alhambra Police Department, located a suspect involved in a hit-and-run incident. The suspect was found asleep in their vehicle. Upon further investigation, the suspect exhibited signs of intoxication. John Martin Lathrop (D.O.B. 02/06/1962, Alhambra) was arrested and booked at Pasadena City Jail.

Victim reported receiving mail addressed to an unknown individual at their residence.
4:54 PM / Incident Report / Huntington Drive / Winston Avenue
Party #1 and Party #2 were both traveling North on Winston Avenue. Party #1’s vehicle, which was towing an attached trailer, sideswiped Party #2’s vehicle while in motion.
5:44 PM / Traffic Collision / Sierra Madre Boulevard / Euston Avenue
Party #1 was traveling East on Euston Avenue and merged into the #2 lane, causing Party #2 to apply their brakes. As Party #2 was braking and making a sudden stop, Party #3, who was traveling directly behind Party #2, was unable to stop in time and collided with the rear of Party #2’s vehicle. The primary collision factor was CVC §21703 – Following Too Closely.
7:28 PM / Residential Burglary / 2900 Block of Wallingford Road
Officers responded to a report of a residential burglary. Upon arrival, officers determined that unknown suspect(s) gained entry into the residence by breaking a rear bedroom window. Officers conducted a canvass of the surrounding area to identify potential witnesses and recover any available security camera footage. This investigation remains ongoing.

Officers assisted South Gabriel Police Department in a warrant arrest investigation. A records check revealed the individual had one (1) outstanding warrant from the San Marino Police Department in violation of PC §602(o) – Trespassing, for a total amount of $10,000.00. Kayla Marie Romaniolos (D.O.B. 12/20/1990, Santa Ana) was issued an Own Recognizance citation and released in the field without incident.
6:28 AM / Hit and Run / San Marino Avenue / Huntington Drive
Party #1 was traveling West on Huntington Drive in the #1 lane, while Party #2 was traveling East on Huntington Drive. Party #1 made a prohibited left turn and collided with Party #2’s vehicle. Party #1 fled the scene without exchanging information. Party #1 later contacted the San Marino Police Department and was found to be in violation of CVC §20002(a) – Hit and Run. Blair Kizza (D.O.B. 09/12/1998, Arcadia) was issued an Own Recognizance citation and released in the field without incident.
9:36 AM / Battery / 1400 Block of Virginia Road
Victim reported that an unknown individual purposely pushed them with their shoulders. This investigation remains ongoing.
11:00 AM / Residential Burglary / 500 Block of Allen Avenue
Officers responded to a reported residential burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered the residence by breaking the rear sliding glass door. Officers conducted a canvass of the surrounding area to identify potential witnesses and recover any available security camera footage. This investigation remains ongoing.
