Overview of Stalking Awareness Month
Stalking Awareness Month is observed each January to raise awareness about the seriousness of stalking and its impact on victims. It highlights the importance of recognizing stalking behaviors, supporting survivors, and promoting prevention and safety strategies.

Helpful Tips for Stalking Awareness Month

  • Recognize the Signs: Repeated unwanted contact, following, monitoring online activity, or showing up uninvited, trust your instincts.
  • Document Everything: Keep records of incidents, including dates, times, screenshots, messages, and witnesses, as documentation can be critical for protection and reporting.
  • Prioritize Safety and Support: If you or someone you know is being stalked, consider creating a safety plan and reaching out to trusted friends, victim advocacy organizations, or local law enforcement for guidance and assistance.

Traffic Enforcement
Traffic enforcement is guided by three (3) primary categories:

  1. Community-generated traffic complaints
  2. Officer-observed violations
  3. Analysis of traffic collision data

The Department maintains and regularly updates a comprehensive list of locations identified through traffic complaints and collision data to inform and prioritize enforcement efforts. As part of our traffic collision investigations, we also assess contributing factors that may have played a role in the incident. These factors may include distracted driving, roadway engineering, and environmental conditions.
