For the period of Sunday, August 10, 2025 – Saturday, August 16, 2025, the Police Department responded to 507 calls for service. Two (2) residential burglary, zero (0) commercial burglary, and one (1) attempted burglary occurred during the reporting week.

- Come to a complete stop at stop signs and avoid rolling through them.
- Limit distractions by keeping your eyes on the road and putting phones away.

Traffic Enforcement
Traffic enforcement is guided by three (3) primary categories:
- Community-generated traffic complaints
- Officer-observed violations
- Analysis of traffic collision data
The Department maintains and regularly updates a comprehensive list of locations identified through traffic complaints and collision data to inform and prioritize enforcement efforts. As part of our traffic collision investigations, we also assess contributing factors that may have played a role in the incident. These factors may include distracted driving, roadway engineering, and environmental conditions.

2:06 PM / DUI / Huntington Drive / Los Robles Avenue
Officers responded to a report of a possible driver under the influence. Upon arrival, officers observed the driver asleep in the driver’s seat of their vehicle. Officers attempted to make contact, at which point, the driver awoke abruptly and reversed the vehicle, colliding with a patrol unit. The driver displayed objective signs of alcohol intoxication and refused to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. It was revealed the driver was in violation of CVC §23152(a) – Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Miguel Angel Diaz (D.O.B. 08/17/1981, Alhambra) was arrested and booked at Pasadena City Jail.
10:47 PM / Attempted Burglary / 1300 Block of Cambridge Road
Officers responded to a report of an attempted residential burglary. The victim was inside the residence when they overheard unknown suspect(s) outside, discussing which entrance to use to gain entry. The victim made noise to alert their presence, causing the suspect(s) to flee the area in an unknown direction. Officers conducted a canvass of the surrounding area to identify potential witnesses and recover any available security camera footage. This investigation remains ongoing.

A report was taken to document property destruction.
4:24 PM / Residential Burglary / 800 Block of Santa Anita Avenue
Officers responded to a report of a residential burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that unknown suspect(s) had gained entry by shattering a window and ransacking multiple bedrooms. Officers conducted a canvass of the surrounding area to identify potential witnesses and recover any available security camera footage. This investigation remains ongoing.
9:30 PM / Traffic Collision / 300 Block of W. Valley Boulevard
Officers were dispatched to assist San Gabriel Police Department. Party #1 was traveling South on a bicycle on the sidewalk on Valley Boulevard. Party #2 was exiting out the location on Valley Boulevard and into the roadway. Party #1 was looking down and collided with Party #2’s vehicle. The primary collision factor was CVC §21201(d)(1) – Riding a Bicycle on the Sidewalk.

6:34 AM / Incident Report / 800 Block of Canterbury Road
Victim reported that their spouse was brandishing a weapon. Upon arrival, officers detained the suspect pending further investigation. The subsequent investigation determined that Yungmen Chen (D.O.B. 02/16/1939, San Marino) was in violation of PC §417 – Brandishing a Weapon and PC §422(a) – Criminal Threats. During the medical clearance process, Chen assaulted an officer, resulting in an additional violation of PC §241 – Assault on a Police Officer. Chen was arrested and booked at the Inmate Reception Center for all listed charges.
4:15 PM / Traffic Collison / Huntington Drive / Oak Knoll Avenue
Party #1 was traveling West on Huntington Drive, while Party #2 was traveling South on Oak Knoll Avenue. Party #1 failed to stop for a red traffic signal and collided with Party #2 in the intersection. The primary collision factor was CVC §21453 – Running a Red Light.

Party #1 was traveling South on Wilson Avenue, while Party #2 was traveling East on Huntington Drive. Party #1 failed to stop for a red traffic signal and collided with Party #2 in the intersection. The primary collision factor was CVC §21453 – Running a Red Light.

Officers responded to a report of a family disturbance.
3:24 PM / Financial Fraud / 2400 Block of Huntington Drive
Victim reported that an unknown suspect fraudulently linked a savings account to their personal checking account. The suspect initiated an unauthorized wire transfer in the amount of $10,000.00. This investigation remains ongoing.
6:39 PM / Traffic Collison / Huntington Drive / Monterey Road
Party #1 was traveling through the intersection when Party #2 was struck while walking across the roadway outside of the designated crosswalk. The primary collision factor was CVC §21956 – Pedestrians Outside of Crosswalk.

A report was taken to document financial fraud.

Officers responded to a report of a residential burglary. Victim stated the residence was under fumigation at the time of the incident. Upon arrival, officers determined that unknown suspect(s) gained entry by cutting the fumigation tent, cutting a window screen, and accessing the interior through an open window and back door. The total reported loss was valued at $22,740.00. Officers conducted a canvass of the surrounding area to identify potential witnesses and recover any available security camera footage. This investigation remains ongoing.
