SMNLL Softball All-Star 10s beat Santa Anita on back to back nights by the same score, 19-1, to take District 17 Banner.
San Marino was led by the pitching duo of Cambria Henry (4 IP, 11K, 1 R) and Peyton Kim (3 IP, 3K, 1 ER) and the batting of Helena Martin (HR, 3B, 5 RBI, 5 R) Harper Lee (HR, 4 RBI, 4 R), Maddie Rome (5R, 2 RBI), Makena Giddings (2B, 3R, 3 RBI), Peyton Kim (2 2B, 5 RBI), Emme Winnarko (4 H, 3R), Kate Rome (5 R, 2 SB) and Audrey Hosp (3 RBI, 2R).
Hailey Flores took two HBPs for the team, and Morgan Tewasart and Julia Hosp scored twice. Maddie Rome was amazing behind the plate while the defense was led by Kate Rome at shortstop, Giddings at second and Lee at first base. The 10 year-old softballers will be led by Manager Dan Giddings and Coaches Jason Rome and Phil Hosp into the State tournament on Friday, July 7th at 5 PM versus District 19 at Almansor Park in Alhambra.
