The City of San Marino is seeking qualified residents to fill the volunteer position of City Treasurer. In partnership with the Finance Director, the Treasurer oversees the City’s investments and advises the City Council. The appointment is made by the City Council and carries a four-year term.
General Responsibilities
- Ensure all investments comply with the City’s adopted investment policy.
- Submit a monthly report on the status of City funds, with support from City staff.
- Work collaboratively with the City Manager and Finance Director.
Once acclimated, the position is expected to require approximately 1–2 hours per week.
Requirements
- Must be a resident of San Marino.
- Background in investment management, finance, banking, or treasury work is preferred but not required.
Why the City is Recruiting Again
The previous recruitment in 2024 resulted in a selected candidate. However, the individual ultimately declined the role due to time constraints. Given the time that has since passed, the City has reopened applications to ensure all interested residents have the opportunity to apply.
